Experience a sunset birdwatching tour near Isle of Palms and Capers Island!
Hop aboard with local Master Naturalist and avian expert, Nicole Marie Pettinelli, from Charleston Bird Club and the naturalists from Barrier Island EcoTours as we explore the shellbanks along the intracoastal waterway between Isle of Palms and Capers Island to find a variety of our feathered friends. The time of year coinciding with high tide, is a consistent time to see large flocks of White Pelicans, American Oystercatchers, and other shorebirds congregated on the shell banks along the waterway. Not to mention sunset is when we see numerous wading birds flocking to their roosts including Roseate Spoonbills, Egrets, Herons, and Ibises. Bald Eagles and Osprey are also common sightings. Of course dolphins will be present along the route as well.
This is an incredible opportunity to observe all of these beautiful creatures at the most magical time of day as the sun sets over the salt marsh.
